General & Pricing
What is Free League Unbound?
Developed by the creators of D&D Beyond, Free League Unbound is the official digital toolset for Free League’s award-winning catalog of tabletop roleplaying games. Currently in Early Access, it gives players access to official game content, searchable rules, and character builders and interactive digital sheets across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
What is Early Access?
Free League Unbound's full launch will include three core features. The Digital Reader gives you access to your books on any device, with every title painstakingly recreated to capture the unmistakable look and feel of a Free League book. The Game Compendium transforms that content into a searchable database, complete with interconnected search and advanced filtering. Finally, Character Tools will provide an easy-to-use character builder and interactive digital character sheet.
During Early Access, the first two of those features, the Digital Reader and Game Compendium, are available for the first four supported games: ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, Coriolis: The Great Dark, Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying, and, for the first time in digital, The One Ring™. If you want to get an idea of how a book looks in the reader, you can check out the Superhero Season convention adventure for the Invincible RPG for free!
As with any Early Access release, not everything is finished, and even things that are built aren't in their final form. You'll encounter bugs, rough edges, and features that are still in development. The entire platform has sprung into existence over the last four months, so this is just the beginning.
Can I unlock books or PDFs I already own in Unbound?
You will be able to unlock any PDFs you already own on Unbound. All customers who already own PDFs through the Free League store will receive a redeemable code prior to the full launch which will allow you to unlock all your PDFs at once.
Keep in mind that the digital tools are separate and are unlocked by purchasing the Unbound version of the content, but having the PDFs you already own unlocked now will reduce the price of any applicable Legendary Bundle + PDF option in the Unbound store.
What Free League games will Unbound support?
All active games are planned for Free League Unbound, starting with ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, Coriolis: The Great Dark, Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying, and, for the first time in digital, The One Ring™.
When will [insert game here] be available on Unbound?
While we know it's tough to wait for your favorite if it's not already supported, we will share visibility into which game(s) are coming next as we confirm them. Keep an eye out on all of our channels for updates.
What do I need to buy to use Unbound?
To make use of the digital tools, you will purchase official content module add-ons for each "book" (or product) in a game's catalog. Once content for a product is unlocked, you can use it in any of the platform's features, such as the Digital Reader, Game Compendium, and Character Tools.
What is available to a free account on Unbound?
Every Unbound account can create an unlimited number of characters using a few free options and any content they have unlocked or shared with them, as well as share any content they own with up to five other accounts through the Groups feature once it is released, at no additional cost.
Will there be a subscription for Unbound?
Most groups will have everything they need with a free account and purchasing the game content they want to use with the core functionality of the digital toolset. A subscription will be offered in the future that is intended for super-users as a bonus, not as core functionality. More details will be shared at that time, but a few of the benefits would include sharing content with a large number of other accounts / groups, custom URLs for characters and groups, access to free monthly themes and dice skins, and more.
Character Tools
What are the Character Tools on Unbound?
The Character Tools allow you to build and manage all your characters with the My Characters listing, as well as easy-to-follow creation steps, contextual guidance, and resource tracking in the character builder and digital sheet.
Can dice rolls through the Character Tools be shared with my group?
